Damping Reactors
Damping reactors are typically Air-Core reactors and used for damping transients and inrush currents.
The percentage tuning factor of these reactors ranges between 0.2 to 1%. The percentage tuning factor, p is defined as the ratio of the inductive reactance(Xl) to the capacitive reactance(Xc) at a nominal system frequency of 50Hz.
When connected in series with the capacitor, the reactor reduces the inrush peak current into the capacitor to a value which cannot stress the insulation and does not damage the internal connections of the capacitor elements.

MV Air Core Filter Reactors
MMIPL offers a wide range of Air-Core Filter Reactors to be used in medium voltage systems up to 36kV. The reactors could be either Single or Three Phase and are suitable for either Indoor or Outdoor Installation.
Depending on the requirement, the windings could be manufactured with Aluminium or Copper.Each reactor is designed using our customized software to ensure the most optimal design while meeting special customer requirements. The reactor windings consist of fibre-glass insulated Aluminium or Copper conductors wound either in single or multiple layers. In the case of multi-layered windings, the successive layers are separated by cooling ducts.
The reactors are mounted on support insulators to provide the insulation to ground and also to maintain the required magnetic clearances. Several mounting arrangements are available: the reactors can be panel-mounted, installed as individual single-phase units, side-by-side, or as three-phase stacks.

LV & MV Iron-Core Filter Reactors
MMIPL offers a superior & proven range of German designed Iron-Core Filter Reactors. The scope of production covers the entire spectrum of single- and three phase Iron-Core reactors for capacitor detuning (capacitor protection/blocking reactors) and for tuned harmonic filters (filter reactors).
For 50 & 60 Hz Low Voltage systems between 120 and 1000V and Medium Voltage systems between 3kV and 36kV, there is virtually no limit to the tailor-made reactor ratings that are possible.
The winding material is either aluminium band (foil), copper band or magnet wire. In case of aluminium band, solid copper busbar terminals are secured to the aluminium using cold pressure welding to provide a reliable lifetime connection.
